Baseball Recap: Clements Colts vs. Covenant Christian Eagles

Clements took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Covenant Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Colts sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Eagles on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Colts have posted against the Eagles since March 3, 2018.

Braxton Sims spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Clements' success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is 2-1 (and 11-12 when he doesn't).
