Basketball Recap: Elgin/Pope John Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Elgin/Pope John won the last time they faced Fullerton and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Elgin/Pope John Wolfpack strolled past the Fullerton Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 48-31. The Wolfpack pushed the score to 41-17 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors cut but never quite recovered from.

Elgin/Pope John's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kate Furstenau led the charge by putting up 12 points. Braelyn Martinsen was another key player, posting ten points.

Despite the loss, Fullerton had strong showings from Jaci Maxfield, who posted ten points and three steals, and Ella Pickrel, who scored six points and seven boards. Maxfield is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Hannah Ciancio also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Elgin/Pope John is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for Fullerton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
