Football Game Preview: Dothan Wolves vs. Godby Cougars + How To Watch

The Dothan Wolves will face off against the Godby Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dothan has given up an average of 31.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Dothan is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Auburn, who was ranked sixth at the time (Dothan was ranked 18th). The Wolves took a 39-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Friday. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the loss, Dothan got top-tier performance from Aj Alexander, who rushed for 212 yards and four scores while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Alexander has become a key player for the Wolves: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Godby hadn't done well against Lincoln recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 30-28 victory over the Trojans.

Godby's receiving core played a big role in the win, headlined by Jerrell Hall and Jamarin Simmons. Hall picked up 47 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns while Simmons picked up 75 receiving yards and one TD. The dominant performance also gave Hall a new career-high in receiving touchdowns (two).

Godby was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 240 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Godby didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Simmons and CJ Allen.

Godby's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Dothan, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Dothan didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Godby in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 37-31 victory.
