On Tuesday, Ponaganset faced Cranston West in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Ponaganset Chieftains enjoyed a cozy 57-41 win over the Cranston West Falcons. The victory was familiar territory for the Chieftains who have now won three matchups in a row.

Cranston West's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madeleine Marques, who posted 11 points. The dominant performance gave Marques a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Silvestri, who put up 12 points.

Ponaganset's win bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Cranston West, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-13.
