Volleyball Recap: Valley Vista Takes a Loss

Valley Vista had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 6-14 to make it four. They lost 3-0 to the Millennium Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Thursday.

Isaiah Austin paced Valley Vista's offense, picking up three kills. Austin also shared the team's lead in assists with Parker Katena: they picked up four each.

As for Millennium, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season. The win was nothing new for Millennium as they're now sitting on four straight.

Millennium was led to victory by Charles Vang and Zach Gillum. Vang had six digs and four aces, while Gillum had ten assists. That's the most assists Gillum has posted since back in March. Ricky Wu also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.

Valley Vista has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Shadow Ridge on the 25th. As for Millennium, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Casteel on the 24th.
