Basketball Recap: Moundridge Piles Up the Points Against Lyons

Moundridge put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 68-18 victory over the Lyons Lions. The Wildcats pushed the score to 60-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions had no chance of recovering from.

Moundridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashtyn Patrick out in front who posted 11 points and four steals. Mackie Conkling was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven assists and six boards.

Moundridge's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Lyons, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Moundridge won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hillsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Moundridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Hillsboro likes a good challenge. As for Lyons, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lyons Lions challenge the Sedgwick Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
