Calhoun Academy found a leader in Cailin Shirer as the team took down Thomas Sumter Academy on Thursday. Shirer produced her best game of the campaign: she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk).

Shirer's strong effort led Calhoun Academy over Thomas Sumter Academy and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
