Basketball Preview: Norwich Free Academy Wildcats vs. Woodstock Academy Centaurs
Norwich Free Academy is 10-0 against the Centaurs since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Norwich Free Academy Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Woodstock Academy Centaurs at 7:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Norwich Free Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 92-48 loss at the hands of New London. Norwich Free Academy has not had much luck with the Whalers recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, Woodstock Academy came up short against the Spartans on Thursday and fell 47-38. Woodstock Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Norwich Free Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Woodstock Academy, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-9.
Norwich Free Academy was able to grind out a solid win over the Centaurs in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 64-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Norwich Free Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
