Basketball Game Preview: Adams City Eagles vs. Gateway Olympians

The Adams City Eagles will square off against the Gateway Olympians at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Adams City will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Wednesday, Adams City ended up a good deal behind Summit and lost 45-30.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Joseph Martinez, who posted nine points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Matius Montoya, who had three points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Gateway took a blow against Ponderosa on Wednesday, falling 80-47. That's two games in a row now that the Olympians have lost by exactly 33 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Gateway and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Adams City, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Adams City couldn't quite finish off Gateway when the teams last played back in February and fell 62-60. Can Adams City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
