Softball Recap: Trinity Presbyterian Comes Up Short

Trinity Presbyterian's tournament run continued when they took on Maplesville on Friday. The Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats came up short against the Maplesville Red Devils, falling 12-6. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Emma Rose Meldrum made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Micaiah Shelton, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Even though they lost, Trinity Presbyterian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.

Trinity Presbyterian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Maplesville, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Presbyterian will venture away from home to square off against Montgomery Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Presbyterian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season. As for Maplesville, they will take on Stanhope Elmore at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
