Volleyball Recap: Buckeye Takes a Loss

Buckeye was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Lakewood Rangers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rangers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 2nd.

While Buckeye was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-17, 25-23.

Emma Bostic paced Buckeye's offense, picking up eight kills. Bostic got some help from Nico Anzevino and her 11 assists. Anzevino also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Abigail Kirlough, each putting up two.

Buckeye's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Lakewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Buckeye didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Firelands on the 27th. As for Lakewood, they will square off against Valley Forge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
