Basketball Game Preview: Ranchview Wolves vs. Gainesville Leopards

The Ranchview Wolves and the Gainesville Leopards will round out the year against one another at at 12:15 p.m. on Monday. Gainesville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Ranchview, who comes in off a win.

Ranchview is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 48-26 margin over Roosevelt last Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Wolves have posted since December 28, 2023.

Meanwhile, Gainesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 65-30 loss at the hands of Lake Dallas. While losing is never fun, the Leopards can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 908th, while the Falcons are ranked 446th).

Gainesville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Ranchview, their win bumped their record up to 3-14.

Ranchview barely slipped by Gainesville when the teams last played back in December of 2015, winning 56-55. Will Ranchview repeat their success, or does Gainesville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
