Baseball Recap: Mount Tabor's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mount Tabor). They put the hurt on the Oak Grove Grizzlies with a sharp 14-4 victory on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

James Price made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julius Vaughn, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. David Thiel also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Mount Tabor's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Oak Grove, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Mount Tabor will square off against Reagan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oak Grove, they will take on Charlotte Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Grove has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
