Basketball Recap: Donna North Takes a Loss

Donna North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat. They were beaten by the Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets 100-47. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 90-38 back in January.

Edcouch-Elsa's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaydon Villalpando, who went 5 of 9 to rack up 16 points and three steals. The matchup was Villalpando's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Erasmo Tamez, who went 5 for 7 en route to 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Donna North's loss dropped their record down to 1-28. As for Edcouch-Elsa, they pushed their record up to 17-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Donna North will square off against Lopez at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edcouch-Elsa, they will take on Rivera at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
