Football Game Preview: Reseda Regents vs. Kennedy Cougars + How To Watch

The Reseda Regents will challenge the Kennedy Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Reseda has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with 16 straight defeats, while Kennedy will come in with seven straight wins.

Reseda's offense might be in the hot seat on Thursday considering what happened against Sylmar on Friday. They were outmatched by the Spartans and fell 42-0.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Kennedy challenged San Fernando on Friday. The Cougars walked away with a 21-12 victory over the Tigers.

Reseda better keep an eye on Diego Montes. He was instrumental in Kennedy's win, rushing for 102 yards and one score on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 133 yards and one TD. Josue Sandoval was another key player, rushing for 91 yards and one touchdown.

Kennedy's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. James Montes was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last three times he's played. Jacob DaSilva was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Kennedy's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Reseda, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Reseda took a serious blow against Kennedy in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, falling 54-0. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Montes, who threw for 234 yards and four TDs on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 78 yards and a pair of scores.
