Volleyball Game Preview: Wasatch Wasps vs. Springville Red Devils

The Wasatch Wasps will venture away from home to take on the Springville Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Springville took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Wasatch, who comes in off a win.

Wasatch will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Salem Hills, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wasps sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Skyhawks on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wasps as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Wasatch got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-15, 19-25, 25-17, 15-25, 15-7.

Meanwhile, Springville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to Spanish Fork.

While Springville was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Spanish Fork's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-8, 25-22.

Wasatch now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Springville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-18.

Wasatch took their win against Springville in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wasps since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
