Baseball Game Preview: Ferris Yellowjackets vs. Castleberry Lions

The Ferris Yellowjackets will venture away from home to challenge the Castleberry Lions at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last five games Ferris has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Ferris' tournament run continued when they took on Ranchview on Friday. Ferris fell just short of Ranchview by a score of 5-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their meetings with the Wolves: they've now lost three in a row.

Ferris saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Garza, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Garza a new career-high. Ayden McCrory-Smith also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Castleberry is still undefeated this season after their match against Diamond Hill-Jarvis on Friday, but Diamond Hill-Jarvis came as close as anyone has to beating them. Castleberry skirted past Diamond Hill-Jarvis 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted against the Eagles since March 22, 2019.

Ferris now has a losing record of 3-4-3. As for Castleberry, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
