Recap: Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles vs. Northgate Broncos
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They snuck past Northgate with a 72-68 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Clayton Valley Charter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Perryman out in front who scored 17 points along with nine steals and seven assists. Perryman hasn't dropped below two steals for 14 straight games. Chase Robertson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three steals.
Northgate's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Harris, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Andjus, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 1 assist.
Clayton Valley Charter's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Northgate, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-8.
Clayton Valley Charter will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Diablo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Diablo is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Northgate, they will square off against Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
