Basketball Game Preview: Van Alstyne Panthers vs. Aubrey Chaparrals

Van Alstyne and Aubrey are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2018, but not for long. The Van Alstyne Panthers will host the Aubrey Chaparrals at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Saturday, Van Alstyne was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to Non Varsity Tournament Opponent.

Meanwhile, Aubrey posted their biggest victory since December 5th on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lorena 82-50. Given the Chaparrals' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Leopards are ranked 542nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Van Alstyne's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Aubrey, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
