Basketball Game Preview: Seymour Owls vs. Rushville Lions

The Seymour Owls will face off against the Rushville Lions at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Seymour didn't have quite enough to beat Scottsburg and fell 48-45. The loss continues a trend for the Owls in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Rushville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against East Central, falling 52-29.

Seymour will have to keep a close watch on Trisha Morgan and Kelsey Morgan, a pair of players who had a big impact on Rushville's prior game. Trisha posted 11 points, while Kelsey earned five points. Trisha continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Rushville's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Seymour, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

Seymour beat Rushville 44-32 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Seymour repeat their success, or does Rushville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
