Softball Recap: Edison Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

While Edison's victory against Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Storm on Wednesday. The victory was just business as usual for the Spartans, who after four games remain undefeated this season.

Aurora Parlo was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Parlo is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Parlo wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maycie Bennett, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Bennett has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Tayler Burdick also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
