Football Recap: West Wendover Comes Up Short

West Wendover extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They lost to the Incline Highlanders on the road by a 31-14 margin. The Wolverines lost against the Highlanders in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 61-0 score last time.

As for Incline, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Lucas MacDonald continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 122 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries, while also throwing for 257 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per attempt. Those 122 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. West Wendover will face off against rival Coral Academy of Science - Reno at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Incline is set to take on their familiar foe Yerington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
