Softball Recap: Monroe Academy Has No Trouble Against Snook Christian Academy

Monroe Academy won the last time they faced Snook Christian Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. Everything went the Monroe Academy Volunteers' way against the Snook Christian Academy Eagles as the Monroe Academy Volunteers made off with a 10-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Volunteers.

Mia Shadburn was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Shadburn was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. She is also on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now hit three or more in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mia Ramer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Jaden Wilson was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Monroe Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Snook Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .375.

Monroe Academy's record now sits at 2-0. As for Snook Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Monroe Academy will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Fort Dale Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Fort Dale Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Monroe Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Snook Christian Academy, they will face off against Cornerstone Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
