Smithsburg waltzed into their contest on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They walked away with a 43-33 victory over the Williamsport Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 57-46 back in December of 2024.

Smithsburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Skyla Mastronardi led the charge by putting up 15 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Another player making a difference was Claire Bono, who posted eight points along with eight steals and six rebounds.

Smithsburg is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Williamsport, they moved to 10-3 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smithsburg has already played their next game (against Boonsboro), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Williamsport will welcome Middletown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
