Basketball Game Preview: Montgomery Bears vs. Burnet Bulldogs

The Montgomery Bears and the Burnet Bulldogs will round out the year against one another at at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Montgomery and Brenham faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Tuesday. Montgomery might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Brenham an easy 61-38 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bears have suffered against the Cubs since December 8, 2015.

Meanwhile, Burnet came up short against Marble Falls on Friday and fell 41-31. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Burnet's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9. As for Montgomery, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.

Montgomery strolled past Burnet in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 62-47. Does Montgomery have another victory up their sleeve, or will Burnet turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
