Preview: Red Springs Red Devils vs. Clinton Dark Horses

The Red Springs Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Clinton Dark Horses at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Red Springs has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Wednesday, Red Springs didn't have too much trouble with St. Pauls on the road as they won 54-38.

Kaedon Porter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Justice Mcmillan, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Clinton suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were the victim of a tough 54-29 defeat at the hands of James Kenan. While losing is never fun, Clinton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while James Kenan is ranked 217th).

Red Springs' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9. As for Clinton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Everything came up roses for Red Springs against Clinton in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 78-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Red Springs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
