Grandview Prep is 8-0 against Donna Klein Jewish Academy since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Grandview Prep Pride will head out on the road to challenge the Donna Klein Jewish Academy Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Grandview Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully Donna Klein Jewish Academy likes a good challenge.
Grandview Prep posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Spanish River out 55-53. Given Grandview Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Spanish River is ranked 506th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Xavian Charles was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marco Jordonne, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Donna Klein Jewish Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 73-65 win over Somerset Academy - Canyons. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Grandview Prep's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Donna Klein Jewish Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
Grandview Prep didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Donna Klein Jewish Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 62-57 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grandview Prep since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
