Shawnee had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Friday. They skirted past the Minster Wildcats 6-4.

Sydney Blanke looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Shawnee let Byanca Dubie and Scarlett Crawford run wild. Dubie went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Crawford went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two stolen bases gave Dubie a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maura Simpson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Shawnee's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Minster, they moved to 12-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Shawnee wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-4 victory against Russia on the 2nd. Hopefully Minster paid attention to the Braves' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Braves at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
