Baseball Recap: Mesa Vista Falls to Penasco in First Game of Season

Mesa Vista kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 23-1 to the Penasco Panthers. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Mesa Vista saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Garcia, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Penasco's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for another result: the Panthers was given a win via forfeit against Mesa Vista later that day.
