Basketball Recap: Bedford North Lawrence Comes Up Short

Bedford North Lawrence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 50-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Columbus North Bull Dogs. While losing is never fun, the Stars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while the Bull Dogs are ranked 27th).

Columbus North found their leader in sophomore Kaylie Harmon, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 18 points. Harmon's afternoon made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadassah Hurt, who posted six points.

Bedford North Lawrence's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Columbus North, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.

Bedford North Lawrence will venture away from home to take on Evansville Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Columbus North, they will head out to challenge Scottsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
