Baseball Recap: Shelby Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Shelby barely beat Lexington the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Whippets were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Minutemen on Monday. 12 seems to be a good number for the Whippets as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Shelby pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.7 runs this season. As for Lexington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shelby will challenge Perkins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lexington, they will take on Madison Comprehensive at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
