Preview: Alta Hawks vs. East Leopards
The Alta Hawks's road trip will continue as they head out to face the East Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. East took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Alta, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Alta beat Brighton 52-46.
It was another big night for Leafa Niumeitolu, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. She hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Maya Mismash, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, East's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 73-54 fall against Brighton. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for East in their matchups with Brighton: they've now lost three in a row.
Alta pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for East, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Alta against East in their previous meeting on January 3rd as the squad secured a 74-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alta since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
