Red Knights could surpass all-time consecutive wins mark early in 2024-25 season.
Incarnate Word Academy (St. Louis, Mo.) ran the nation's longest winning streak to 116 games over the weekend with a 52-50 victory over formerly-ranked
Sacred Heart (Louisville, Ky.). That result helped the Red Knights climb one spot in this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school girls basketball rankings.
Peyton Hill scored the final seven points for Incarnate Word Academy, including a game-winning layup with under 30 seconds remaining. Sacred Heart was holding for a final shot tied at 50 before a steal led to Hill’s winner.
If the Red Knights win out and grab their seventh straight Missouri state title, they would still be about 10 games shy of passing Central Plains.
Duncanville falls eight spots to No. 21.
No. 14
Johnston (Iowa) returned to action after wintry weather postponed several games the week prior. The Dragons beat
Dowling Catholic (West Des Moines, Iowa) 43-31 on Friday as
Aaliyah Riley led the way with 15 points and
Jenica Lewis added 10. The next night,
Aili Tanke scored 20 while
Amani Jenkins and Lewis combined for 30 in a 24-point win over Millard West – one of the top teams in Nebraska.

Peyton Hill of No. 15 Incarnate Word Academy helped the Red Knights keep their 116-game win streak alive over the weekend with a game-winning layup over Sacred Heart in a 52-50 victory. IWA holds the longest active win streak in high school girls basketball. (Photo: Terry Cullop)
