Roanoke Valley Christian fell victim to Christian Heritage Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. Brodie Edwards was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Ryan Canipe was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Peyton Conley was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 9-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Roanoke Valley Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
