Volleyball Recap: Pike Central Takes a Loss

Pike Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the North Posey Vikings. If the Chargers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Vikings when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-13, 25-5.

Heidi Woodford paced Pike Central's offense, picking up six kills. Woodford got some help from Braelyn Barnett and her eight assists.

North Posey had a senior duo take command as Addie Murphy had 16 digs and Mallory Luigs had 13 digs and one assist. Luigs has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 30 times she's played.

Pike Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for North Posey, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.

Pike Central has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Princeton on the 16th. As for North Posey, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Evansville Reitz on the 16th.
