Basketball Game Preview: Montgomery Catholic Knights vs. Saint James Trojans + How To Watch

Montgomery Catholic is 1-9 against Saint James since December of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Knights will head out to take on the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Montgomery Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

On Wednesday, Montgomery Catholic took their contest with ease, bagging an 81-41 victory over Pike Road.

Hannah Smith was nothing short of spectacular: she shot 5-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double with 32 points and 24 boards. Her afternoon made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. Jordan Robinson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 20 points and nine assists.

Montgomery Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Saint James suffered their biggest loss since November 21, 2024 on Wednesday. They came up short against Scottsboro, falling 62-40. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Trojans' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Montgomery Catholic's record is now 3-0. As for Saint James, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Montgomery Catholic ended up a good deal behind Saint James when the teams last played back in December of 2024, losing 74-60. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
