Volleyball Recap: Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Takes a Loss

Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted lost against Southwest Christian back in October of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lakers fell just short of the Stars by a score of 3-2. While the Lakers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Stars 25-18 in the first set.

Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted took Southwest Christian into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-16, 25-23, 23-25, 15-9.

Leading Southwest Christian to victory were Lauren Paradise and Anna Brunsberg. Paradise had 33 digs and five assists, while Brunsberg had 16 digs. Those 33 digs gave Paradise a new career-high.

This is the second loss in a row for Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted and nudges their season record down to 20-7. As for Southwest Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-14.

As of now, neither Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted nor the Stars have any future games scheduled.
