Football Recap: Speedway Comes Up Short

Speedway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Northview Knights.

Logan Moore threw for 66 yards on nine of 13 attempts. Lucas Devault was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards.

Colton Bath was nothing short of spectacular for Northview: he rushed for 92 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries, and also threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. What's more, Bath racked up 165.2 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.

Speedway's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Northview, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Speedway will be playing in front of their home fans against Lawrenceburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northview, they will venture away from home to face off against Sullivan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Knights' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
