Volleyball Recap: Alma Beats Wilcox-Hildreth for Their Third Straight Victory

Alma waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Tuesday.

Alma had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-8, 25-16.

Their offense was headlined by Vayden Epp and Tierston Moore, who picked up 12 kills apiece. They got some help from Kamryn Scott and her 19 assists. Taylor Pool controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Wilcox-Hildreth lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ona Wilsey, who had 14 digs.

Alma's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Alma will host Elm Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wilcox-Hildreth has already played their next contest (against Red Cloud), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
