The Ellet Orangemen will venture away from home to take on the Coventry Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Ellet is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.

While Ellet didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against North on Wednesday as they made off with a 19-2 win. The Orangemen haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Andrew Muckleroy made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Muckleroy was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. That run marked the first that he scored this season.

In other batting news, Keaton McKeel was a standout: he scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Josh Sims was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

Ellet always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .652. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Coventry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 11-6 to Norton. On the bright side, the six- run effort marked the Comets' highest-scoring contest to date.

Coventry's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Ellet, their record now sits at 4-1.

Ellet couldn't quite finish off Coventry in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Orangemen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
