Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Wardlaw Academy

Wardlaw Academy extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Colt Bailey. The Wardlaw Academy Patriots managed a 40-35 win over Newberry Academy on Friday thanks in part to Bailey, who went 7 for 14 en route to 17 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Micheal Martin, who posted five points. Those five points gave him a new career-high.

Wardlaw Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-12. As for Newberry Academy, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Wardlaw Academy will venture away from home to challenge Cambridge Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Bailey and Maddox Lee. As for Newberry Academy, they will be playing at home against Anderson Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Newberry Academy is facing Anderson Christian at the right time seeing as Anderson Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
