Baseball Recap: Denton Comes Up Short

Denton suffered their closest loss since April 18, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the South Hills Scorpions by a score of 4-2. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Scorpions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2020.

Denton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derek Perez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Perez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. Alden Armor also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Denton's loss dropped their record down to 3-2-2. As for South Hills, they moved to 2-3-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Denton will be taking part in a tournament against Bowie at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for South Hills, they will head out to take on Irving at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
