Preview: Richland County Tigers vs. Robinson Maroons
After six games on the road, Richland County is heading back home. They will take on the Robinson Maroons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Richland County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Robinson is ranked 32nd).
Last Saturday, Richland County ended up a good deal behind Gillespie and lost 53-37.
Richland County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Leah Gibson, who scored 17 points along with 5 steals, and Danielle Reagan Brown who scored 3 points along with 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Reagan Brown is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Robinson entered their tilt with Marshall with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Robinson put the hurt on Marshall with a sharp 67-42 win on Saturday.
Their wins bumped Richland County to 4-2 and Gillespie to 4-3.
Things could have been worse for Richland County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-37 loss to Robinson when the teams last played back in January.
