Softball Recap: Okeechobee Has No Trouble Against Clewiston

Okeechobee's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 19-1 margin over the Clewiston Tigers. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Brahmans' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Audra Friend was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Melaine Bonilla, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Okeechobee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matches.

Okeechobee picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Clewiston, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Okeechobee will challenge Suncoast at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clewiston, they will square off against Glades Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
