Softball Recap: Groveton Drops Highest Score of Season Against Colmesneil

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Groveton). Everything went their way against the Colmesneil Bulldogs on Tuesday as Groveton made off with a 24-7 win. The victory was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on six straight.

Groveton pushed their record up to 16-4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Colmesneil, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Groveton will look to defend their home field on Friday against West Sabine at 6:00 p.m. Groveton's pitchers better be ready for this one: West Sabine has averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Colmesneil, they are taking a road trip to square off against Hemphill at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
