Softball Recap: Smithville Takes a Loss

Smithville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 12-6 to the Dalton Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 last Monday.

Caitlin Walsh-Knouff made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Kiersten Ross was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Smithville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Dalton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3.

While Smithville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
