Mounds View is 8-2 against Irondale since February of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mounds View Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Irondale Knights at 7:00 p.m. Mounds View knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Irondale likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Mounds View ended up a good deal behind Cretin-Derham Hall and lost 78-61. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Raiders are ranked fourth).

Meanwhile, Irondale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 96-91 heartbreaker at the hands of Roseville. One positive for the Knights, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Mounds View will have to contain Cameron Cramble as he made an impact in Irondale's last game. He dropped a double-double with 27 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Cramble a new career-high in shooting accuracy (85%). Another player making a difference was Richard Russell, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 16 points.

Even though they lost, Irondale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Irondale's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Mounds View, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Mounds View didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Irondale in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 70-64 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mounds View since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
