Basketball Recap: Carol City Comes Up Short

Carol City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 57-15 loss at the hands of the Goleman Gators. While losing is never fun, the Chiefs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 609th, while the Gators are ranked 288th).

Despite the defeat, Carol City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Trenia Baker posted ten points. That was a full 66.7% of Carol City's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Carol City's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Goleman, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-5 record.

Carol City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-20 defeat against Killian on the 27th. Goleman has also already played their next game (against Dr. Krop), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
