Football Game Preview: Murphy Bulldogs vs. Andrews Wildcats

The Murphy Bulldogs will head out to take on the Andrews Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Murphy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Murphy gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They came out on top against Robbinsville by a score of 17-10.

Cameron Clem continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 109 yards and a pair of scores. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Murphy proved: they limited Robbinsville to a paltry 3.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Camden Breazeale for the heroic effort on defense: he. Murphy hasn't allowed more than 5.6 yards per carry in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Andrews, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in September. They strolled past Rosman with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 20-6. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Murphy better keep an eye on Brady McLelland. He was instrumental in Andrews' win, rushing for 50 yards and one touchdown, while also throwing for 53 yards and one TD.

Andrews' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Murphy, their record now sits at 5-2.

Everything came up roses for Murphy against Andrews when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 35-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
