Basketball Game Preview: Laredo LBJ Wolves vs. Eagle Pass Eagles

The Laredo LBJ Wolves will square off against the Eagle Pass Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Laredo LBJ has struggled recently with nine losses in a row, while Eagle Pass will arrive with three straight wins.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-29, which was the final score in Laredo LBJ's tilt against Medina Valley on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 889th, while the Panthers are ranked 221st).

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Eagle Pass ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Medina Valley out 52-50.

Laredo LBJ's defeat dropped their record down to 6-20. As for Eagle Pass, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8.

Laredo LBJ came up short against Eagle Pass in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 47-41. Can Laredo LBJ avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
